About the Artwork you provide to us
You qualify for a printing discount if you provide all artwork required for your job ready to print.You will be asked to upload this during the ordering process, or you can provide these files via alternative means.
Even if you need us to design your artwork for you, you will also be provided the option of uploading images that you want us to incorporate within a design we make for you (you company logo for example)
If you can, please do supply artwork in PDF format. If you are unable to supply this format don't panic! Please supply you art in your own format and we will convert it for you (no charge).
Artwork is not considered finished unless it meets the following specifications for each printing category.
But before we begin you will need to understand "Artwork Bleed"
Artwork bleed is an area of your image that is outside the final cut of your printed piece. This will allow the printer to be able to guarantee that your printed piece will (if cut a fraction to the left or right) be finished as you envisioned.
Not allowing for bleed may result in your piece having a thin white line (which is actually the card or paper underneath) along one or more of the sides of the piece.

Various types of Stationery have been grouped together under the 'Stationery Section' of this site....but what are all these items?
Letterhead : Letterhead refers to paper printed with your log and contact details, that you can then use to print correspondance and other documents on.
With Complement Slips : With Complement slips are notes that usually include your logo and contact details plus provide space for hand written messages. These are usually printed in DL size - 99mm X 210mm (A4 folded in 3). We can print them in other sizes if you like.
Envelopes : Are printed with your logo and address details in 1 or 2 colour designs (full colour is also available). Most common requests are for DL Envelopes, however other sizes are available.
Pads : These notepads are printed with your logo/design on each page. Notepads are glued at the top, for easy peal and use. Notepad comes cardboard backed, to make them sturdy and travel friendly.
Invoice Books : Our invoice books are available in Duplicate or Triplicate forms in Black & White or Colour. They are sturdy and include auto numbering from what ever starting point you need.
Letterhead, With Complement Slips and Notepads are usually printed on 100gsm paper (more about paper weights below). Invoice books are printed on 90gsm. Other weights are available upon request.

Colour or Black and White?
Colour is generally more expensive than black and white, though in some cases our price is the same.
They are denoted throughout this site as:
Colour - Col or CMYK (which is the printing process used to produce full colour prints)
Black and White - B&W or B+W
gsm - Grams per Square Meter
This denotes the weight of the paper. As a comparison:
80 gsm : the weight of your standard copier/printer paper.
80-130 gsm : are thin paper, typically used for letterbox distribution and high turnover promotional material, like flyers. Note that any paper less than 140 gsm will show through printing on the other side.
130-150 gsm : are ideal for flyers and brochures, especialy folder items and items were "show through" is not desirable.
200+ gsm : is reasonably thick, high quality paper, that is not recommended for folding items.
300 gsm : is a thick card stock used for business cards

- All files must be named clearly ie. A1 Electrical Letterhead.pdf
Folded Brochures
- Artwork must be designed to exact measurements Flat ie: DL 6PP Brochure - 210x297mm(A4 Flat) or A4 4PP Brochure - 420x297mm (A3 Flat)
- All artwork must have a 2mm bleed# around entire artwork.
- Artwork must be designed at a minimum of 300dpi resolution.
- Photographs used in design must also be 300dpi resolution.
- All images must be CMYK
- All fonts must be embedded or outlined
- All files must be named clearly ie. A1 Electrical DL Brochure Front.pdf
Booklets Artwork
- must be designed to exact measurements single paged ie: A4 Booklet - 210x297mm
- All artwork must have a minimum of 2mm bleed# around entire artwork.
- Artwork must be designed at a minimum of 300dpi resolution.
- Photographs used in design must also be 300dpi resolution.
- All images must be CMYK
- All fonts must be embedded or outlined
- All files must be named clearly ie. A1 Electrical A4 Booklet.pdf
Calendars
- Artwork must be designed to exact measurements Flat ie: A4 210x297mm
- All artwork must have a 2mm bleed# around entire artwork.
- Artwork must be designed at a minimum of 300dpi resolution.
- Photographs used in design must also be 300dpi resolution.

- All fonts must be embedded or outlined

Sizes A6 is 105mm X 148mm (A5 folded in half) A5 is 210mm X 148mm (A4 folded in half) A4 is 297mm X 210mm (A4 is the standard letter paper size.) A3 is 297mm X 420mm (2 times A4) A2 is 420mm X 594mm (2 times A3) A1 is 594mm X 841mm (2 times A2) A0 is 841mm X 1189mm (2 times A1) DL is 99mm X 210mm (A4 folded in 3) Finishes - Gloss, Silk or Bond Bond is a flat surface but Matt (non-reflective) surface Silk has a very smooth and slightly reflective surface Gloss is a completely smooth surface with a shiny surface Binding Options Saddle Stitched : is where two or more sheets of paper are bound together in the spine with two staples, folded in half. This method of binding is not viable for over 60 page booklets as they are too thick to satisfactorily saddle stitch, often bulging at the spine. Wire Binding : Also known as "Wiro Binding" this is where the spine of your booklet is hole punched and then has wire threaded through the holes to bind it, forming a coil at the spine. This is great for large documents. Perfect Binding : With this binding merthod the spine is glued and ends with a flat edge. Most large comercial books are perfect bound.
